4G Systems is presenting its WIMAX router and HSUPA capable products for the first time at the 3GSM trade fair in Barcelona
Hamburg, February 12th 2007: The Hamburg based company 4G Systems GmbH is presenting its debut WIMAX product the WLAN router 4G XSBox®R4v WIMAX at this year’s 3GSM trade fair in Barcelona (12th-15th February, Hall 2, Stand 2G07). Further new products will also be presented including the new 7.2MBit/s HSDPA/HSUPA router as well as the HSDPA/HSUPA XSPlug®P5, which is extremely light with its fine and even smaller design.
The WIMAX router 4G XSBox®R4v WIMAX means there is always a hotspot nearby. This high-speed internet access is ideal for small teams and families because simultaneous use for several PCs or notebooks is possible. Voice services are transferred to existing fixed network telephones over VoIP / SIP through a telephone connector (RJ11). Thus the WIMAX router 4G XSBox®R4v WIMAX is also suitable to completely replace DSL/fixed line. The router enables simple operability, independent of the operating system. Subsequently immediate internet surfing is possible as no software needs to be installed.
Mobile WIMAX is spreading quickly. As more and more operators prefer this to the fixed WIMAX standard, 4G Systems GmbH has always consequently built on the mobile WIMAX IEEE Standard 802.16e-2005. In comparison to normal WIMAX, mobile WIMAX allows faster and more secure data transmission also with mobile terminals. Joerg Lehnich, VP Marketing & Sales is convinced „the customer can surf the internet anywhere with our mobile hotspot, which is now WIMAX capable. The extension of our product range bridges a gap in the market. Our focus is always on standards in order to shorten the WIMAX rollout “time to market” for network operators and infrastructure suppliers. Attractive terminals are again the key to success here“. The terminals manufactured by 4G Systems enable early adoption of a new technology in countries where mobile network or DSL coverage is not yet available everywhere.
4G Systems’ product range is speeding up: the HSDPA/HSUPA XSPlug®P5 as well as the 4G XSBox®R5v are increasing their uplink speed. With downlink data rates of up to 7.2 MBit/s, the uplink speed is four times faster than HSDPA uplink speed. New applications can thereby be used, such as for example uploading films and pictures. The uplink speed is especially important for small teams and agencies which send large data volumes over the internet. Downward compatibility to GPRS, EDGE and UMTS is of course guaranteed. The new 4G Systems product generation will be commercially available in an even smaller size and extremely attractive design in the third quarter of 2007.
